Black Gold

At the time we are living in we are still very dependent on traditional energy resources, like oil. Every time there is a country involved who is major producer or consumer of this resource it strongly affects the markets.

No wonder it was the case in the recent history. And there is always a talk that prices at the pump change where other prices don't, and they don't go back when they go up. It's true probably in a way prices tend to go up when there is an incentive to do so but they don't tend to go back.

And the oil prices move over the last year and insecurity for the future created this incentive for the price move. Not only that but probably was one of the components.
