I thought all cannons are the thing of the past already, but it appears it still in use by armies, and we saw a wide range of different howitzers coming into play. I understand it became very used when both sides stopped advancing and stopped in their positions. 

It seems that howitzers can be still extensively used and there were comments that they were used so extensively that over a few months finished all the firing resource. So we are talking about a range of 21-23 kms for US M777 howitzer, 42 kms for CAESAR self-propelled howitzer, up to 47 km depending on round model for Panzerhaubitze 2000. Operating ranges of self-propelled howitzers are specified in a few hundred kilometers as they of course can change position very quickly.

I tried to look for information how accurate are these weapons. General comment being that artillery is not a precise weapon, there are some indications depending on type and round used it can be within 150m for 30kms range. Another comment that 500m from target is considered safe area. Which is quite good precision if wider area is targeted. Supposedly being lower cost than other range firing possibilities they can be still used quite extensively and, in some cases, effectively.

Which Ones Do You Know?

    Which Ones Do You Know? I somehow lost the interest to continue with some conclusion of tactics and strategies and arms used and supplied by the greatest armies of this world. I started to think what I know from what I could use if needed. When I ask myself a question "which ones do you know", I am talking about the assault rifles. Today, as probably now for more than a century, soldier who is not equipped with a rifle is not a soldier, unless you use a tank, pilot a plan or use other equipment that is used to do some damage to the enemy. It's a bit surprise to me, what a wide choice of different assault rifles exist. Every bigger and quite many medium size and smaller countries have their own models of assault rifles . Which is your favorite and how well do you master it? For me who has not served in any army, I have quite limited knowledge and using practice of any of the assault rifles.

    People Without drawing any conclusions, just for my own interest and for others to whom it may be interesting. Data based on the World Bank statistics. The population growth is in percentage. Data is provided until the year 2050, but because the percentage change is pretty much similar over the presented years I extended the curve until 2099 for total population graph and show the data as per World Bank until 2050 and then the extended trend until 2099. With decreasing growth population is still growing at 2050, reaches 0% growth in 2076 and starts decreasing from this point at quite low rate that the population line is quite flat.
