Attack Helicopter "Fly"



I have seen myself a few Hollywood films where attack helicopter comes to difficult to reach area and can cause big damages spread panic and fly away. It did look very impressive in the films.

But again, the same question: how close to reality is what we see in the film? Reality seems very different at least that's the conclusion that I am making. Of course provided that those who are attacked have necessary defence weapons. With that attack helicopters are extremely vulnerable. With relatively low speed and low altitude they are a perfect target in open space for defence systems.

The same as with tanks the utility and use of them should be carefully thought over. The definition remains the same, an attack helicopter is an armed helicopter with the primary role of an attack aircraft, with the offensive capability of engaging ground targets such as enemy infantry, military vehicles and fortifications. 

However, the defence systems advanced so much that attack helicopters are taken down before they engage in any attack and probably just cause some noise in the sky like flying flies. Again, maybe there are situations where they can be extremely useful, but in real war situation there is no impressive film show, it seems.

Which Ones Do You Know?

    Which Ones Do You Know? I somehow lost the interest to continue with some conclusion of tactics and strategies and arms used and supplied by the greatest armies of this world. I started to think what I know from what I could use if needed. When I ask myself a question "which ones do you know", I am talking about the assault rifles. Today, as probably now for more than a century, soldier who is not equipped with a rifle is not a soldier, unless you use a tank, pilot a plan or use other equipment that is used to do some damage to the enemy. It's a bit surprise to me, what a wide choice of different assault rifles exist. Every bigger and quite many medium size and smaller countries have their own models of assault rifles . Which is your favorite and how well do you master it? For me who has not served in any army, I have quite limited knowledge and using practice of any of the assault rifles.

    People Without drawing any conclusions, just for my own interest and for others to whom it may be interesting. Data based on the World Bank statistics. The population growth is in percentage. Data is provided until the year 2050, but because the percentage change is pretty much similar over the presented years I extended the curve until 2099 for total population graph and show the data as per World Bank until 2050 and then the extended trend until 2099. With decreasing growth population is still growing at 2050, reaches 0% growth in 2076 and starts decreasing from this point at quite low rate that the population line is quite flat.
